Friday 22nd March

This week we had a wonderful trip to the Sea City Museum.  We learnt lots more facts and information about the Titanic and her crew.  Did you know that Titanic was taller than the clock tower in the photo!

We were really proud of the way that the children participated sensibly on the trip.

The children wrote some fabulous recounts of their trips on their return to school.

Spring performances

The children are very excited about their performances next week.  We hope that you can join us.

The dates are as follows;
1H - 25th March
1J - 26th March
1R - 28th March
We would love you to join us at our performances at 2pm.
Phonics
This week in Phonics we have revisited alternative pronunciations of "oo" these are "ew", "ue" and "u_e".   These are sounds that lots of children in Year one have found tricky in our recent phonics assessments.  It would be great if you could practise these sounds using the games on Bug club and by reading this week's allocated book.

Maths
This week in Maths we have been revisiting our number bonds for numbers up to ten using problem solving contexts e.g. If I have ten sweets and 2 are in my hand, how many are in the bag.  We also discussed doubles in this context.
