Friday 9th February

 Friday 9th February

We hope that you have a lovely half term holiday break next week.
Thank you for your support this half term.

This week we have been working on our Design Technology learning.  We experimented with construction kits, making stable structures with secure frames and overlapping bricks.  We learnt how to make hinges and attach tubes to models.  We designed and made our own stable structure with doors, windows and a roof.
Maths
In Maths this week we have been sorting groups of objects into twos and tens.  We have been working out how many "lots of" two or ten are in each group.  You might like to practise this at home during the holidays.  Could you organise toys or food items into groups of 2 or 10?  How many "lots of 2" do you have?  How many items altogether?
The game below can be set to count in 2s or 10s, forwards and backwards.

Phonics

In Phonics this week we  have continued to revisit our Phase 5 graphemes to develop our confidence in reading and writing words with these sounds.  This week we have revisited alternative graphemes for the "or" digraphThese include aw, al and au.
You might like to play the games on Bug club which practise these sounds.

P.E. Kits
Over half term, please could you check that your child's P.E. kit and trainers still fit them.
Many thanks!
