Friday 8th December

In R.E. this week we have been learning how light is used in different celebrations.  We have learnt about the importance of light to Christians in the celebration of Advent.

This week in Science, we have been learning about materials, their properties and why they are chosen for purposes.

In Art, we are learning the technique of weaving and looking at the work of the textile artist Lanny Mackenzie.

Phonics
In Phonics we have been revisiting all of the phase 5 phonemes and tricky words taught so far this term.  We have been doing a Phonic assessment with your child to find out which words and phonemes they know securely.
Maths
We have been counting in tens and continuing our work finding 4 different number sentences to match a part whole model e.g.
5-2=3
5-3=2
3+2=5
2+3=5
