Friday 26th June

Its been a hot week at school but the children have been superstars coping with the heat.  We have enjoyed having our outdoor classroom in the woodland area in the shade.

Geography

Although our walk to the park was cancelled because of the heat we have used this to support our learning objective for how we can change our local park to make it better suited to extreme heat!

We drew plans of the park that we would like to see.

Reading Logs

The children will be given new reading logs in September.  Please keep reading throughout the summer and adding to the reading challenge cards.  These can still be brought into school in September to exchange for badges and books.

Maths
In Maths this week we have learnt how to find a quarter of shapes and amounts of objects.  We used bar models and part whole models to record our working.
Science
We started our science learning about how forces make things move.
We described how pushes and pulls move objects and toys in our classroom and did an investigation to find the best rolling cars and bouncing balls for our toy box.
