Class Performances
The children are working hard on their class performances.  If your child has words to read, please can you practise reading them clearly and out loud at home.
If your child is in Class 1J or Class 1B please can they bring some brightly coloured clothes to wear for the performance in a named carrier bag - lots of children have still not brought in clothes to wear.  Your child will be wearing plimsolls or trainers for the performance.  Class 1R will be wearing their performance clothes to school as it is non-uniform day on the day of their performance.

Many thanks!

Phonics Check Meeting

On Wednesday 15th April at 9am Mrs Robinson will be running a meeting to give you information about the National Statutory Phonic screening check that takes place in Year One in June.

It would be great if you are able to attend this meeting so you can find out how you can best support your child with their phonics at home.

Many thanks!

Geography

In Geography we learnt about St Patrick's Day (which is on the 17th March) and the traditions associated with it.  We located Northern Ireland and Belfast on a map of the United Kingdom and recapped the names of the other countries that make up the United Kingdom.

Maths

In Maths this week we have been solving addition and subtraction problems then using the answers to solve a related problem e.g. Sam has 8 apples and gives 6 to his friend, how many apples will he have left?  What happens if he has 8 apples and gives 5 to his friend?

Phonics

In Phonics this week we  have continued to revisit our Phase 5 graphemes to develop our confidence in reading and writing words with these sounds.  This week we have revisited alternative graphemes for the "or" digraphThese include aw, al and au.
You might like to play the games on Bug club which practise these sounds.
