Friday 28th March

We were so proud of the children in all of their performances.  They did such a great job! Thank you for coming and for supporting the children in learning their words.

Trip to the Sea City Museum on Monday 31st March
On Monday, please can your child bring their water bottle on the trip. They do not need to bring in their school bag on this day.  Please can your child wear school uniform.
If you have not ordered a school packed lunch for your child, don't forget to send one into school!  Please do not send extra food if you have already ordered a picnic lunch from school.
Thank you!

Money
After half term we will be focussing on money in Maths.  The children usually find it quite hard to learn to identify coins as they don't have so much experience of coins with our ever increasing use of cards!
Over Easter please can you give your child opportunities to handle coins.  Can they identify the values of each coin? Can you play shops and use coins to pay for objects. Try lining the coins up in order of value or sorting coins into groups so all of the 2p coins are together for example.
Thank you!

Phonics

This week in Phonics we have revisited alternative graphemes for  "c" these are c, k, ck and ch (as in "anchor").  It would be great if you could practise these sounds using the games on Bug club and by reading this week's allocated book. We have allocated the books below to practise the sounds above;
Hungry Birds and Go-Kart, Go!
Thank you!

Maths
In Maths this week we have been working on our quick recall of number bonds to 10.  We solved problems e.g. "If I have 10 counters and 3 are in the pot, how many are hidden in my hand?"
You might like to play the game below with your child to practise their number bonds to ten.

RNLI visitor
This week we had a great visit from the RNLI.  They taught us how to keep safe at the beach and near water.
