Waterstones walk - Thursday 6th March
We have been invited to Waterstones in Whiteley to spend our World Book Day vouchers and share a story.
We will be walking to Waterstones in the morning on Thursday 7th March.  We would be very grateful if any parents or carers could volunteer to support us in our walk down to Whiteley.
Many thanks!

This week we have been carrying out our Design Technology unit of work, where we learnt about creating stable structures.  We explored construction kits and materials including straws, pipe cleaners, wooden sticks and elastic bands.  We learnt how to join materials to make stable, free standing shapes.  We then designed and made our own tent frame, after talking about how in 1666 people had to live in tents after the Great Fire.

English

In English this week we applied our learning about past tense verbs to write our own versions of Toby and the Great Fire of London.

Phonics

In Phonics this week we  have continued to revisit our Phase 5 graphemes to develop our confidence in reading and writing words with these sounds.  This week we have revisited alternative graphemes for the "or" digraphThese include aw, al and au.
You might like to play the games on Bug club which practise these sounds.
This weeks allocated books are "Boring, Boring!" and "Creepy crawly hunt"

P.E. Kits
Over half term, please could you check that your child's P.E. kit and trainers still fit them.
